Not Just Another Pretty Face

Found art outside the Cork Art College where we traveled to reconnect with Hermann and Jessica, artist/educators from Cork City.  Jessica is on staff at the Mayfield Arts Center.  Hermann teaches/facilitates art process in a program for people who are living with developmental disabilities.  Between the two of them, there was much to see in terms of exhibits in this city of alleyways.

Home Is Where the Heart is...and the Art!

This exhibit was installed in a storefront, termed a pop-up shop. It was the culmination of a collaboration sponsored by Mayfield Arts with 20 women from 20 countries who came together to 'build' and 'furnish' a temporary home where the public could interact, create, listen, and contribute their own ideas of HOME......i.e. stitch it on the bag and carry it home.

Tea and cakes and poetry.

As in many Irish towns, a stream runs fast through Cork City.

One good pub with great appetizers and a very interesting bowl on the shelf...can you see it?
